Meet the founder and CEO, Laura, aka your business and profitability mentor. Laura has the ability to find the missing pieces and assemble them all, turning financial chaos into an organized and completed puzzle. From here she can pull together a streamlined approach to growth and profitability, allowing clients to sleep soundly thanks to their newfound financial freedom. When not teaching clients what their financials mean, Laura enjoys time with her husband, their blended family of four, and their six rescue kitties.
Meet Payten, our puzzle-loving Controller & Client Champion who brings clarity, strategy, and forward momentum to every client relationship. With nearly six years of accounting experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with an emphasis in Public Accounting, Payten specializes in advisory and controller services. As she works toward finalizing her CPA license, she partners with business owners to turn complicated financial data into practical insights, confident decisions, and a clearer path forward. Outside of work, Payten enjoys early-morning workouts, hiking, traveling, and solving puzzles. She’s always ready to chase a sunrise, try a new restaurant, or admire a beautiful view!
Nicole holds a BBA in Accounting and an MBA, with over 10 years of experience across diverse accounting functions. She specializes in turning data into actionable insights, driving process improvements, and optimizing efficiency. When she’s not creating a pivot table or a checklist, she can be found spending time with family and friends or her dog, Bear. Her favorite way to relax is a rewatch of her go-to shows, grabbing her Kindle for the next book adventure or turning up her music and going for a walk. During football season, she can be found cheering for (or mourning) the Atlanta Falcons - rise up!
Meet Susan, an administrative whiz and expert financial data organizer. She loves the feeling of all the details adding up just right… ah, a sweet picture of
perfection! Susan has a keen eye for capturing details, and this talent doesn’t just lend itself to clients’ administrative needs, she’s also a skilled photographer.
Before fixing numbers, Susan worked as an EMT, fixing people in moments of crisis. When she’s not working, you can find her enjoying the company of her three orange cats or sitting by the ocean (preferably in Turks & Caicos!).
Dawna is a behind-the-scenes powerhouse! She keeps Accounting Elements
organized and lends a hand to all areas of the business. What makes her happiest at work is the joy in exploring the details, helping clients thrive, and making sure everyone has what they need to do their best work. Dawna’s background is in
laboratory services, so it’s no wonder she loves tackling things as if she were inspecting it through a microscope. In her downtime, she enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family, including nine grandchildren – all boys!

Accounting Elements is a fully virtual firm, which means we work with businesses across the United States regardless of location. Our entire team operates remotely using cloud-based accounting tools, so there's no geographic requirement for who we can serve. If you're based in any U.S. state and need virtual bookkeeping or accounting support, we can help.
We primarily work in QuickBooks Online and Xero — the two leading cloud-based accounting platforms for small businesses. If you're already set up in one of these, we'll work directly in your existing system. If you don't have an accounting platform yet or need to migrate, we can help you select and set up the right tool for your business.
